Your Job
Georgia-Pacific is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Maintenance Superintendent (Pulp - Fiberline). This position will provide strong leadership to the department, developing and executing strategies for continuous improvement initiatives.
Our Team
The Brunswick Cellulose facility is one of the largest integrated fluff pulp mills in the country with a modern woodyard, fiberline, three paper machines, waste treatment plant, and utilities operations. The Brunswick Cellulose Mill, located in the southeast corner of Georgia is within minutes of downtown Brunswick and about an hour from Jacksonville, FL to the south and Savannah, GA to the north.
What You Will Do
  • Act as a safety champion, demonstrating a commitment to improving operational output with a primary focus on achieving zero significant incidents and fatalities.
  • Utilize experience to lead and develop people within the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Collaborate with other capability teams to enhance maintenance activities, optimize production outputs, and capture operational efficiencies.
  • Help coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring smooth execution and timely completion of all scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Partner with Learning and Development to implement training plans for maintenance staff to enhance skill sets and cross train.
  • Manage salary support within the department to align with achieving daily operational goals.
  • Clearly communicate expectations for preventive maintenance and equipment reliability to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Implement maintenance strategies and methodologies to improve equipment performance, reliability, and longevity.
  • Analyze maintenance data and metrics to identify trends, develop improvement plans, and optimize maintenance practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to ensure effective maintenance planning and execution.
  • Manage the maintenance spend, including cost control and optimization of maintenance resources.
  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive asset management system to track equipment maintenance history, spare parts inventory, and work order management.
  • Partner with Operations to identify and support capital and expense investments for sustainability and transformation through strategic investments.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Experience in a leadership role within an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Experience identifying and implementing solutions to maintenance-related problems
  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and achieving measurable results
  • Experience working with pulp mill and woodyard or similar equipment (cranes, log lines, chip handling and screening, conveyors, digesters, presses, washers, blow pits, MC pumps, electrical equipment, distributed control systems, air, hydraulics, etc.)

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Pulp and Paper Science
  • Maintenance leadership experience in the fiberline or power and recovery area of a pulp mill
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies experience
  • Experience in developing and executing comprehensive training plans for maintenance staff
  • In-depth knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems and application of these systems to execute disciplined maintenance execution processes
