The Supervisor of Distribution Food Safety maintains regulatory food safety compliance, proactively and reactively prevents pest issues, and strengthens the Publix brand.  As a leader in the Corporate Quality Assurance department, this position leads and manages the pest control and warehouse sanitation teams in our Atlanta and McCalla distribution centers to protect Publix customers from potential product contamination.

Responsibilities of this position include:
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining food safety management and quality assurance systems for distribution centers including the following warehouses: Produce, Boxed Meat Dairy, Frozen Foods, and Dry Grocery, Return Centers, Manufacturing Central Warehouses, and third-party storage facilities. 
  • conducting risk-based facility audits, providing guidance and coaching related to food safety practices, and increasing overall food safety compliance
  • implementing and maintaining Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Preventive Controls requirements for monitoring and maintaining food safety throughout Publix distribution centers
  • overseeing the safe and efficient operation of pest control activities in Distribution to ensure food safety and being accountable for the results
  • acting as Publix's advocate during Publix's interaction with food safety regulatory agencies such as the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), US Department of Agriculture Food Safety Inspection Service (USDA FSIS), and state departments of agriculture
  • partnering cross functionally for site-specific implementation and training of food safety and quality assurance programs within our distribution centers
  • providing support to Distribution leadership on a number of special projects and activities related primarily to food safety and product quality
