About the Work

The Commercial GEOINT Discovery and Assessments Office (SCD) searches out and procures the best commercial GEOINT sources for the National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG). SC’s mission is to coordinate and manage the discovery, assessment, procurement, and delivery of commercial GEOINT solutions for the NSG. SCD’s functions include the following:

  • Engaging with industry and existing NSG activities to discover commercial GEOINT solutions for assessment based on balancing customer demand, commercial market availability, and the Intelligence Community’s (IC) unique collection and analysis needs.
  • Coordination with NSG partners to determine NSG mission needs to determine commercial solutions, assess commercial GEOINT solutions and inform our acquisition strategies.
  • Coordinate assessments across NGA.
  • Inform functional management governance processes to ensure efficiency in discovery, assessment, and expenditure of resources.
  • Fortify sensor resilience through a diversity of commercial suppliers.
  • Determine commercial solutions having the best match to prioritized NSG needs and conducting the procurement and delivery to meet those needs.

Evaluate project performance across the organization and make comprehensive recommendations to the Government. Provide expertise and advice to plan, manage, and execute programs and projects. Provide the Government advance and objective insight into program issues, execution risks, and corrective actions. Draft, review, and, after Government approval, publish program reports required by statutes and regulations. Participate in program management and business management reviews and provide feedback to the Government. Support programmatic activities with development contractors. Review and revise management and governance policies, instructions, standards, and best practices. Develop and plan tailored contract oversight and scope verification activities consistent with NGA program and financial management policies and plans. Review and assess working documentations and changes. Participate in NGA planning activities with Mission Partners, and development contractor sponsored Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and working groups. Develop and update project business plans, advocacy briefings, and project schedules in accordance with agency policy. Develop and coordinate Project Plans and project approval documentation.

Your Duties

  • Facilitate cross organization teams on large projects or significant segment of large complex projects.
  • Analyzes new and complex project related problems and creates innovative solutions involving finance, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools, and solution components.
  • Provides applications systems analysis and programming activities for a Government site, facility or multiple locations.
  • Prepares long and short-range plans for application selection, systems development, systems maintenance, and production activities and for necessary support resources.
  • Oversees all aspects of projects.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Top Secret SCI (TS/SCI) Security Clearance
  • US Citizenship
  • Demonstrated experience in Commercial GEOINT, validating /verifying adherence to specified requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with Intelligence Community data and product types, missions and functions to include geospatial requirements process and production.
  • Demonstrated experience with electronic publishing and the publication production process.
  • Demonstrated experience routinely interacting with senior-level directors and/or agency heads.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and directing teams of specialists, sharing knowledge with others and work as a team member.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite such as building spreadsheets, consolidating input across various offices, and edit/update as needed.
  • Demonstrated experience providing strategic level decisions in a team environment.
