Job description

Step Into the Build Room: A Day in This Role

You arrive at Corp 17, badge in, and open your dashboard. Overnight parts updates trigger a quick re-sequencing of the 47V and 47F build timelines. You message stakeholders, lock the new schedule, and publish a morning snapshot of at‑risk components. By mid‑day, you’re guiding a packed Production‑Oriented Design (POD) workshop—80+ participants spanning Design Engineering, Plant Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Program Management—keeping debates focused, logging every issue, and assigning owners. The afternoon shifts to preparing for a Go/Go‑Later decision gate, aligning digital findings with what you’re seeing in the shop, and closing the loop with a crisp status note to leadership. That’s a typical day supporting MDC’s push for manufacturing readiness.

Why This Matters

The Manufacturing Development Center (MDC) accelerates build maturity by moving manufacturability validation earlier in the program. As an embedded, on‑site partner, you’ll help drive Project Mosaic’s critical PAR programs—especially Western Star X‑Series (47V) and Blue Thunder M2/SD (47F)—through B‑sample and C‑sample with fewer surprises and cleaner launches.

What You’ll Coordinate Vehicle Build Orchestration (47V, 47F, plus others as assigned)
  • Maintain and adjust build schedules; communicate changes swiftly to all impacted teams.
  • Track parts, BOM, and spec health—including CWO status—and publish weekly reports flagging missing or high‑risk items.
  • Plan and run POD workshops: invite lists, prep materials, facilitation, and post‑session documentation.
  • Capture and monitor shop calls and build issues; update status and escalate per defined paths.
  • Support build readiness reviews and Go/Go‑Later milestones.
Digital + Physical POD Enablement
  • Own Physical POD logistics and execution: scheduling, stakeholder alignment, introductions, technical role assignments, issue capture/review, and A/V recordings management.
  • Bridge digital insights to shop‑floor planning so learnings convert into action.
  • Coordinate Digital POD sessions with DTICI: calendars, stakeholders, and documentation.
  • Distribute outputs from POD reviews and maintain clear traceability.
  • Keep validation issue logs current with named owners and due dates.
Program Flow & Reporting
  • Facilitate and document shop calls, program reviews, and planning touchpoints.
  • Deliver a weekly roll‑up of risks, open items, and action tracking.
  • Maintain dashboard inputs and visuals (Power BI and visual management boards).
What’s Provided On‑Site
  • Workspace and facility badge at Corp 17.
  • Access to Microsoft Teams, Power BI, SharePoint, and network resources.
  • Engineering system access as needed (Teamcenter, BOM reference view‑only).
  • Process playbooks, templates, and introductions to key cross‑functional partners.
Experience We’re Looking For Required
  • 3+ years coordinating projects in a technical setting.
  • Exceptional organization; able to juggle multiple streams and competing priorities.
  • Confident large‑group facilitator (30–80+ attendees) across technicians, engineers, managers, and executives; able to command the room and keep focus.
  • Polished presence with the ability to hold others accountable, redirect off‑track dialogue, and defuse tense moments.
  • Personable, quick to build rapport across levels and functions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
Preferred
  • Background in manufacturing, automotive, or heavy vehicles.
  • Familiarity with product development stages (sample builds, design reviews, milestone gates).
  • BOM or parts‑tracking exposure.
  • Power BI or comparable data visualization hands‑on.
  • Experience with Jira or similar (Kanban, Scrum, DevOps).
  • Time in pre‑series/prototype build environments.
Engagement Details
  • Period of Performance: August 1, 2026 – July 31, 2027
  • On‑Site Model: Embedded with the MDC team under Client direction at Corp 17
  • Oversight: Tasking and prioritization from the MDC Manager; assignments may originate from multiple MDC team members
  • Cadence: Weekly status meetings (minimum) and monthly progress reviews
  • Performance Focus: Responsiveness, reliability, clear communication, and independent execution within scope
