Job description

Job Summary

The Service Content Manager will collaborate with global stakeholders to develop and publish industry-leading service content supporting new programs and sustaining business. This key role involves managing Technical Publications for Peterbilt and Kenworth product portfolios, overseeing all publication activities to ensure timely delivery within program budgets. This role will lead a team of internal and external Technical Authors and Service Content Liaisons, who utilize Content Lifecycle System software to maximize content reuse and consistency across PACCAR materials. The Service Content Manager also oversees content translation handled by an external firm and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement in both products and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the complete service content lifecycle, including review/editing, ensuring adherence to PACCAR’s style guidelines and standards.
  • Supervise Technical Authors and Service Content Liaisons, including reviewing and approving authoring assignments.
  • Manage capital budgets, forecasting, and reconciliation across multiple program budgets and contractor POs.
  • Lead service content sizing efforts and manage Technical Publications reporting for PCP tollgates and program reviews.
  • Track and report progress on service content deliverables to meet deadlines for new and sustaining programs.
  • Establish and manage contractor relationships to ensure quality and timely deliverables.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Program Management, Engineering, Technical Publications teams, PACCAR Powertrain, and DAF to meet publication and compliance requirements.
  • Assist the team by removing obstacles, raising risk awareness, and escalating issues to leadership as needed.
  • Identify and create graphics to support content development.
  • Support legal and translation needs related to service content.
  • Present updates and reports to Executive Leadership.
  • Understand technical product details to create effective customer-focused documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required, with an emphasis on Business, Engineering, Technical Publications or related subjects preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience required
  • Strong organizational, time and schedule management, and reporting skills
  • Experience supervising, developing, motivating, and directing individual contributors
  • Proactive problem-solving approach with high initiative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; effective team player
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with diverse stakeholders
  • Occasional travel required (up to 10%)

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous automotive, dealership hands-on experience, manufacturing experience, or product knowledge
  • Project management experience, including the ability to manage project budgets
  • Strong organizational, time management, and reporting skills
  • Familiarity with the PACCAR Capital Budget Lifecycle
  • Knowledge and experience in technical writing and publications systems such as CLS/CMS
  • Experience using Smartsheet for tracking and reporting
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools, including Access, Excel, SharePoint, and OneNote
  • Working knowledge of HTML, XML publishing, and structured authoring
  • Solid mechanical aptitude

Salary Range:
At PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for this position is $104,100 - $146,630 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
