Job description

The Village of Orland Park, a dynamic, progressive, vibrant community, seeks an experienced professional to oversee the planning and implementation of capital projects, day-to-day operations, as well as provide strong leadership to our Public Works Department. The Public Works Director is an integral member of the village's executive leadership team and will propose, implement and maintain all policies affecting the maintenance of the Village infrastructure.

This position requires at least 10 years of progressive experience managing a similar public works organization along with a bachelor’s degree in public/business administration, civil engineering, or related field (significant relevant experience will also be considered). A master’s degree in a related field and/or a P.E. designation is highly preferred.


Strong project planning and tracking, budgeting, fiscal management, solid judgment, supportive and motivating leadership style, and participatory management approach are additional qualities that will make for a successful Director in the Village of Orland Park.
