Job Summary

Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Service is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Customer Service Assistant. Following the directives of the designated supervisor, the individual is tasked with providing customer service and administrative support for the assigned department. This role is centered on providing services, information, and support to the public, while also managing daily tasks such as handling mail, phone communications, filing, registration, fee collection, counter assistance, and data entry administrative functions for the designated department. The Customer Service Assistant may issue work instructions or provide directions to volunteers and other designated personnel.
We are currently hiring for the following location(s):

  • Claude Moore Recreation & Community Center, Sterling, VA
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides courteous and timely customer service to County staff, vendors, citizens, and other visitors; guides customers to the appropriate personnel.
  • Oversees the handling of files and records within the department; facilitates the retrieval and reproduction of necessary reports for the Department.
  • Oversees telephone communications within the office.
  • May carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the specific role and departmental assignment.
Hiring salary commensurate with experience.
Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of related work experience in a clerical position involving contact with the public and working with automated systems. Or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies, or related field
  • At least one (1) year of work experience in customer service and/or front desk operations ideally in a recreation or community center setting.
  • Experience working RecTrac Point-of-Sale System.
  • CPRP-Certified Park & Recreation Professional.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo criminal, credit, and DMV background checks. Driver's license must be valid, and driving record must be good. The driver's record may be subject to an annual review to ensure ongoing qualification.
The work schedule may be altered according to operational hours and can include both weekdays and weekends to fulfill business needs and address times of increased facility usage.
