Job Description:

Tax Intern - Summer 2027

Location: Indianapolis, IN
This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace.

The Tax Intern is responsible for supporting our Tax department by assisting with federal and state income tax compliance, tax accounting, examination/audit defense, and special projects. During this summer internship, the intern will be exposed to and gain experience with federal and state income tax, sales/use tax, property tax, and state premium (insurance) tax.

This internship program is a 12-week, full-time program running from May 17th, 2027 - August 6th, 2027.

How you will make an impact:

  • Performing in-depth data analysis and tax modeling and assisting with process improvement

  • Researching and executing analysis of tax law (federal, state and/or international)

  • Supporting ongoing state and/or federal state tax audits

  • Preparing selected tax filings while analyzing tax developments and their application to business units

  • Working with a tax team to deliver outstanding results

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a BA/BS degree program in Accounting, Finance, or other related degree.

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship program

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • An interest in pursuing a career in the field of taxation (CPA path preferred)

  • Excellent Problem-solving, Analytical, and Organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel, Word, and Access
