What you will be doing:
In this role, you will lead the state's Immunization Program, a critical public health program that serves to protect the life, health, and safety of Alaskans. This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing statewide immunization strategy, major federal grants, and a diverse portfolio of programs that strive to prevent vaccine-preventable diseases across Alaska. You'll guide strategy, ensure federal compliance, and strengthen partnerships with health care providers, Tribal organizations, and public health leaders. Your leadership will directly shape vaccine access, data systems, and population health outcomes. The working environment you can expect:
This position is located on the 5th floor of the Frontier building in Anchorage at 3601 C Street. The office offers views of the Chugach Range, Mt. Denali, and the Cook Inlet, with Cuddy Family Mid-Town Park nearby. There is ample covered parking, a high level of building security, ample vending machines for drinks/snacks, and nearby restaurants and stores. The working environment and culture are friendly, flexible, and supportive, and staff is currently working hybrid schedules (remotely and in-office).

Equivalent to those typically gained by:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in biological, health or behavioral science; health practice; education; public, healthcare, or business administration; or a closely related field;
AND/OR
Progressively responsible professional supervisory or lead level experience performing health program planning, development, coordination, evaluation, or implementation; providing technical health care assistance and consultation; conducting health care utilization or quality assurance examinations; and/or delivering health care service.
Special Note: Agencies employing Health Program Managers are responsible for administering a wide range of medical, behavioral, and social health insurance programs for children and adults. Positions typically focus on a particular health area. Where licensure is required, the job vacancy announcement will identify the type of license necessary to apply for that specific position.
