Job description

Overview

The Senior Data Analyst serves as a key resource for business intelligence, performance and operational analysisfor Central Health. Under general direction of the Central Health's Analytics Quality Manager, the Senior Data Analyst is responsible for organizing, analyzing and reporting on data from large clinical, financial, and enrollment datasets. They will also assist in the design and development of data warehouses, performance dashboards and other systems that support the needs of an integrated network of physicians, safety net providers and hospitals to advance care that is patient centered and data driven. This analyst will act as an Epic subject matter expert for front/back-end Epic reporting development.

Hybrid = Individuals in this position may work both at an approved off-site location and onsite at a primary location or multiple locations based on business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and document business requirements for reporting and analysis initiatives with customers, which includes gathering, formatting and analyzing clinical, claims, eligibility, financial and other data from various sources to develop reports and dashboards.
  • Serve as an Analytics and Reporting lead on assigned projects.
  • Perform quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis and prepare results to share with internal and external customers.
  • Aid in design and development of data warehouse/data mart applications.
  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards for multiple stakeholders including clinical, operations, finance, planning, strategy, reimbursement and other Central Health teams.
  • Collaborate with IT (Joint Technologies) when necessary to automate reporting and to troubleshoot data issues.
  • Utilize SQL or other advanced analytic tools to perform data extract, integration and query functions. Identify and troubleshoot data anomalies and irregularities.
  • Work closely with Epic Business Intelligence Director to identify potential solutions for various reporting needs.
  • Builds SlicerDicer and Reporting Workbench reports and completes Epic Radar setup for custom SQL metrics.
  • Prepare written and oral reports that communicate necessary information to internal and external customers.
  • Produce and streamline as needed ongoing monthly, quarterly and annual reports in support of CentralHealth.
  • Become a data subject matter expert (SME) and understand various sources and applications of Central Health data.
Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with an additional 5 years' experience in a related field (healthcare, statistics, experimental research, data science, economics or public health) will be considered in lieu of degree /
  • Bachelor's Degree Management Information Systems, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering or related quantitative discipline. 

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

  • Master's Degree Master's degree in Management Information Systems, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering or related quantitative discipline. 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • 3 years of experience in healthcare, statistics, experimental research, data science, reporting and analytics, economics, or public health.
  • 3 years experience in SQL (preferably T-SQL) or Python scripting with an advanced level of expertise.
  • 3 years experience with MS Excel with an advanced level of expertise.
  • 2 years experience in Tableau or other data visualization tool
  • 2 years experience in report development within Epic EMR using Slicer/ Dicer, RWB, Clarity or Caboodle.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: 

Epic Cogito Certification within 6 Months
