WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Supervisory Public Health Advisor, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

• Serving as the advisor and planner for development and coordination of domestic and international surveillance, outbreaks and a variety of other investigations.
• Evaluating infectious diseases affecting mobile populations (immigrants and travelers) at ports of entry and transit in the United States.
• Shaping and influencing national operating policies, methods and procedures for disease prevention within correctional prevention programs.
• Providing technical assistance in coordination with key agency officials, managers, and supervisors.

  tuberculosis exposure.
• Subject to frequent travel using government, domestic or foreign modes of air, land and sea transportation.
• Subject to temporary duty assignment at any location in the United Sates and its territories or possessions, in foreign countries or at sea.
• Must be able to qualify for unrestricted access to secure areas at U.S. ports.

Basic Qualifications:
Your documented experience must provide evidence of the following:

• Knowledge of organizational, operational, and programmatic concepts and practices applied by public, private, or nonprofit agencies and organizations engaged in public health or other health-related activities.
• Knowledge of the methods, processes, and techniques used to develop and deliver public health or health-related programs in State and local settings.
• Knowledge of a specialized public health program.
• Knowledge of, and skill in, the application of administrative or analytical methods and techniques necessary for working within the framework of a public health or related organization and carrying out specific program functions.
• Skill in oral and written communications, gathering and conveying information, making oral presentations, and preparing reports, correspondence, and other written materials.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:

• Providing leadership, or serving as a primary liaison, on issues related to investigations of, or public health response to, communicable disease transmission associated with conveyances and ports.
• Developing and implementing strategies to achieve international and national goals and objectives related to investigations of, or public health response to, communicable diseases affecting mobile population.
• Developing and coordinating implementation of action plan(s) to improve prevention strategies; identifying and establishing strategic linkages through meetings and conferences between public health programs at the local, State, or national/federal levels.

If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
