Job description

About Figure

Figure (NASDAQ: FIGR) is transforming capital markets through blockchain. We're proving that blockchain isn't just theory - it's powering real products used by hundreds of thousands of consumers and institutions.

By combining blockchain's transparency and efficiency with AI-driven automation, we've reimagined how loans are originated, funded, and traded in secondary markets. From faster processing times to lower costs and reduced bias, our technology is helping borrowers, investors, and financial institutions achieve better outcomes.

Together with our 170+ partners, we've originated over $22 billion in home equity loans (HELOCs) on our blockchain-native platform, making Figure the largest non-bank provider of home equity financing in the U.S. Figure's ecosystem also includes YLDS, an SEC-registered yield-bearing stablecoin that operates as a tokenized money market fund, and several other products and platforms that are reshaping consumer finance and capital markets.

We're proud to be recognized as one of Forbes' Most Innovative Fintech Startups in 2025 and Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies in Finance and Personal Finance.

About the Role

Figure is looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Manager of SEC Reporting with an eye for accuracy and a passion for cutting edge technology in the financial services industry. This role will be responsible for leading our financial reporting efforts, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations, and contributing to the overall success of our Controllership. Ownership and pride in your work are key to being a part of a team that is changing the financial services industry. This is a great opportunity to work at a rapidly growing company in a pivotal stage alongside some of the brightest minds and experienced leaders in the Fintech space.

What You'll Do

You'll play a critical role in leading our SEC and financial reporting function as we scale. This role blends deep technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration, offering visibility across leadership and the opportunity to influence process improvements as we grow. You will report to the Director of Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting.

SEC & Financial Reporting:

  • Manage the preparation and timely filing of SEC reports, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, proxy statements and other required filings, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SEC regulations, and XBRL tagging.
  • Prepare or review supporting schedules for financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A sections.
  • Prepare disclosure checklists and tie-out documentation for SEC filings.
  • Maintain the reporting calendar and ensure timely execution of deliverables to meet deadlines.
  • Lead the review process with legal, external auditors, and internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the reporting function: streamlining processes, simplifying disclosures, and implementing best practices.
  • Help establish and maintain SOX-compliant internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Assist in preparing internal management and investor reports, as well as materials for the Audit Committee.
  • Support regulator inquiries and information requests, as needed.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, or areas of risk and improvement.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner closely with executive leadership, legal, investor relations, and auditors to deliver high-quality reporting.
  • Promote a culture of learning, ownership, and operational excellence within the controllership team and broader finance.

Technical Accounting & Strategic Projects:

  • Research and assess new accounting standards and SEC requirements, translating complex guidance into practical application.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance to finance and cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Support ad-hoc financial reporting initiatives and other strategic projects as the company scales.

What We Look For

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; active CPA required.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2–3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Deep experience in SEC reporting (Regs S-X and S-K), including ownership of 10-Ks/10-Qs and financial statement preparation in a public company.
  • Strong foundation in US GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial reporting best practices.
  • Mix of public company and Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
  • Fintech, tech, or high-growth industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Workiva (required) and NetSuite (preferred).
  • Public company reporting experience is required.

How You Work:

  • Clear, confident communicator; able to synthesize technical information for executive audiences.
  • Highly organized with excellent project management skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Resourceful, curious, and proactive; driven to take ownership and grow within a scaling organization.
  • Resilient, optimistic, and energized by challenge and change.
  • High integrity and strong ethical standards.
  • Precision-focused with strong attention to detail and awareness of the bigger picture.
  • Able to lead through ambiguity, work independently, and coordinate across teams and time zones.

Salary

  • Base Compensation Range: $140,250 - $189,750/yr
  • 25% annual bonus target, paid quarterly
  • Company equity in the form of RSUs

This is the compensation range for the role in the United States. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's experience, skills, location, internal equity, and evolving business needs. While most offers are generally made within the middle of the range, final compensation is determined based on the factors above.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with 100% employer-paid premiums for employees and their dependents on select plans
Company HSA, FSA, Dependent Care FSA, 401(k), and commuter benefits
    Employer-paid life and disability insurance
