Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the licensed therapist in the overall assessment of residents
• Support the licensed therapist in performing tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures
• Implement resident care programs as directed by the licensed therapist
• Carry out exercise programs and train residents in exercise, ambulation, and activities of daily living according to the Resident Care Plan
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, functional training, and mobility activities
• Monitor patient progress and report changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and injury prevention
• Prepare and maintain treatment areas and equipment in a safe and sanitary manner

Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Compensation and Schedule:

• Location: Fairport Rehab and Nursing Center - Fairport, NY
• Pay Range: $34.00 – $40.00 per hour
• Schedule: Per diem - must have weekend availability

Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Qualification and Skills:

• Graduate of an accredited 2-year Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current NYS license for Physical Therapy Assistant
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively in a team environment
• Physical stamina to assist residents and perform treatment activities
• Ability to function independently, demonstrate flexibility, personal integrity, and work effectively with residents, staff, families, and external agencies
