As an IBM Consulting FutureNow Center Intern, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to help solve real business and technology challenges for clients around the world. You'll gain hands-on experience, build in-demand technical and professional skills, and contribute to meaningful projects while learning in a collaborative, team-based environment.
This internship is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience that prepares students for a potential full-time career with IBM Consulting upon graduation.
In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting FutureNow Centers, where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Package Specialist Intern at IBM, you'll gain hands-on experience helping organizations operate, support, and continuously improve enterprise applications that enable critical workforce and business processes.
As part of our Workday Enterprise Application Operations practice, you'll gain exposure to supporting enterprise platforms such as Workday through application support, configuration, testing, reporting, managed services, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. No two projects are exactly alike-you could support clients across healthcare, financial services, public sector, retail, industrial, manufacturing, and more.
During your internship, you may assist with application configuration, business process workflows, reporting and data analysis, testing, issue resolution, documentation, and continuous improvement activities. You'll work with experienced team members to understand business requirements and help translate HR and workforce needs into effective technology-enabled solutions.
You'll learn how Workday supports critical business processes across human resources, workforce management, talent management, finance, and other enterprise operations.
To give yourself the best opportunity for success, we advise applying only to roles that align with your skills and experience, rather than applying broadly across all entry-level positions. You'll receive a status update email for each application, so be sure to check your IBM Careers account regularly - it's the best way to get a centralized view of which roles you have active applications against.
The primary internship program dates are May to July 2027 (10 weeks).
Required education
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Information Systems, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.

Ability to analyze information, identify trends, and solve problems using a structured approach.
  • Exposure to business, HR, technology, analytics, or process improvement projects through coursework, student organizations, case competitions, or internships.
  • Understanding of how technology, data, automation, and Artificial Intelligence can improve employee experiences and business outcomes.
Interest in workforce transformation, enterprise applications, cloud technologies, and consulting.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and a desire to continuously learn and grow throughout your career.

You don't need to be an expert to get started. We're looking for individuals with a strong foundation, a growth mindset, and a desire to learn and make an impact.
Bring your curiosity. Grow your skills. Build what's next - like an IBMer.
