SUMMARY:IPS is a behavioral healthcare company that specializes in outpatient mental health and substance use treatment for adults in socioeconomically diverse populations in Dallas, Ellis, and Kaufman Counties. IPS is a state-funded, non-profit organization specializing in outpatient clinical services for individuals negatively impacted by the criminal justice system. Using empirically validated and evidence-based treatment, IPS strives to ensure the highest level of care for our clients. IPS’ mission is to positively affect change by offering clinical and educational services that assist in reducing adult offender recidivism.IPS is seeking a Psychiatric Assistant Manager who is passionate about serving individuals with mental illness, substance misuse, homelessness, and forensic involvement. This role supports the daily clinical and operational functioning of psychiatric and mental health services by assisting with care coordination, staffing support, workflow management, and communication across multidisciplinary teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Psychiatric Assistant Manager supports clinical and operational service delivery by coordinating referrals, including crisis, diversion, re-engagement, and high-acuity cases, ensuring timely response, follow-up, and documentation in accordance with organizational standards. This role assists with patient onboarding, assignment to appropriate clinicians, and coordination of transitions across levels of care to promote continuity of treatment. The Assistant Manager facilitates daily team communication, supports staffing coverage and scheduling needs, and provides real-time problem-solving to maintain consistent service delivery. Acting as a liaison between frontline staff, management, and external partners, this position escalates urgent concerns and ensures effective interdisciplinary collaboration. The role also provides administrative and operational support, including service coordination, compliance activities, participation in quality improvement initiatives, and support of auxiliary or remote tasks as needed. Additionally, the Psychiatric Assistant Manager assists leadership with staff development efforts, including onboarding, training, observations, participation in interviews, and attendance at internal and external meetings as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:● Supports supervision and coordination of clinical and support staff
● Assists with professional development and onboarding of team members
● Helps implement departmental goals and objectives
● Supports monitoring of team performance metrics and service delivery outcomes
● Completes projects and management tasks as assigned
Qualifications: ● Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Psychiatric Rehabilitation, or a related clinical field, required● Active licensure in the applicant’s respective discipline (LPC, LCSW, or equivalent licensure), required● Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing services to adults with severe and persistent mental illness● Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suites, ADOBE Acrobat Pro ● Other skills required: Ability to type at least 40 wpm.● Job Type: Full-time
