Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Dean Advising and Retention, the ACEC Student Services Advisor will be responsible for the daily administration and operations of Student Service programs. These areas include: student recruitment, academic advising, career services, financial aid and payment, records and registration functions, and student life for students enrolled in academic programs at the ACEC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Additional related duties may be assigned.
1. Serve as Student Affairs division advisor to students at Aviation Career Education Center (ACEC).
2. Coordinate and provide activities including recruitment, registration, new student welcome, program information sessions, student success workshops advising, career counseling, financial aid assistance, payment processing, and student life.
3. Case manage current students in all ACEC/Aviation Maintenance (AVM)
4. Monitor, track, and support registration, re-registration, certificate, and degree completion tracking, and related reporting.
5. Actively participate in career fairs, recruiting events, and other related activities
6. Support, monitor, track, and report: course, program, certificate, and degree completion activities and outcomes
7. Provide career planning and job placement support and reporting, in conjunction with the Director of Career Service and Job Placement.
8. Provide support to the development and improvement of programs and services to reach a diverse student population.
9. Foster an environment of departmental collaboration to ensure the successful delivery of academic support and student services.
10. Develop academic pathways that aid students in transferring to other RVC campus locations to complete transfer or career program requirements.
11. Facilitate information sessions and facility tours for prospective students, businesses, and community partners,
12. Use the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to accurately manage schedules, provide advising notes, and update relevant activities.
13. Create Standard Operating Procedures related to current roles and responsibilities.
14. Respond to all inquiries, disputes, and complaints in student services areas.
15. Create a ACEC communication plan that emphasizes responsive, respectful, and individualized support to the needs of prospective and current students.
16. Develop reports that highlight how efforts at the ACEC align with Student Affairs Divisional goals.
17. Establish and maintain good working relationships with academic departments at the ACEC
18. Ensure proper procedures are implemented and followed.
19. Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student workers.
20. Serve on RVC committees as needed.
21. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
22. Some evening and weekend hours will be required.
23. Regular attendance is expected.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in higher education leadership, counseling or student affairs field highly desirable.
1. Demonstrated experience in working with a wide range of students and community groups preferred.
2. Knowledge of collegiate academic/financial aid procedures is preferred.
3. Spanish language skills are highly desirable.
4. Previous community college experience is desirable.
5. Excellent demonstrated organizational skills.
6. Ability to use independent judgment and function autonomously.
