Job description

Job Summary:
The Spine Team Texas Patient Service Associate is responsible for providing customer assistance and checking in all patients upon their arrival and then checking them out when exiting the facility. The highest quality of customer service is essential for this position. The Patient Service Associate is responsible for providing appropriate patient documentation forms (demographics, financial, insurance, etc...) and information while complying with all confidentiality and HIPAA regulations. The position requires the ability to process charges and payments. Cross-training required to provide coverage needs at either location and/or at ASC Reception. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Spine Team Texas.
Educational Requirements & Position Qualifications:
  1. High School graduate or equivalent work experience.
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent time management
  3. Excellent organizational ability.
  4. Possess the ability to plan and execute work projects.
  5. Possess the ability to work productively, either independently or with other individuals.
  6. Proficient in communicating in the English language both written and verbally.
  7. Ability to add/subtract/total charges and payments accurately.
  8. Attention to detail.
  9. Computer skills and data/entry.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. While maintaining and following all HIPAA regulations and standards, it is the Patient Service Associate's responsibility to check in and check out all patients and follow the appropriate procedures and policies concerning necessary documentation and chart preparation.
  2. The Patient Service Associate is responsible for ensuring appropriate customer service, assisting patients in the lobby with various needs. This position is to provide accurate and appropriate information to authorized individuals in a timely and efficient manner.
  3. Additionally, this position is required to process charges and payments on a daily basis and adhere to the turnaround standard.
  4. Other duties and responsibilities may be required by the Spine Team Texas Patient Financial Service Manager.

Customer Service
All Spine Team Texas employees are required to maintain the highest level of customer service at all times. Employees must always speak in a kind, courteous and professional manner when dealing with a patient/customer or co-worker. Employees are required to fulfill the Spine Team Texas mission of "Offering an Unparalleled Patient Experience!" All employees must exhibit a spirit of cooperation and positive attitude. Professionalism is to be maintained at all times.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Must be able to sit for long periods of time and work in a well-lit, air conditioned office environment. Must have ability to lift a minimum of 5 pounds. Must be able to work under pressure. Tasks involve no exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.
