Position Summary:
Under general supervision, this position provides a wide variety of complex administrative and staff support services to the Plant Manager, Human Relations Manager and other department mangers as needed. The purpose of this position is to enhance plant effectiveness through the use of appropriate procedures and systems.
Key Job Responsibilities: Principal Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assembling and analyzing information and data from a wide variety of sources.
• Preparing reports, manuals, agenda, correspondences and memoranda. Producing graphics for presentation.
• Answering mail and inquiries on own initiative, following up with other departments to ensure that requests are carried out.
• Answering telephone calls, tactfully handling inquiries and/or transferring calls to appropriate party.
• Arranging and making notifications of appointments and travel reservations and arrangements.
• Performing a wide variety of administrative and clerical duties, including taking dictation and transcribing notes for letters, memos and reports.
• Preparing materials in final form from very rough and involved drafts which may utilize frequent use of technical terminology and statistical data, and which combine materials from several sources.
• Assist Plant Manager and Human Relations Manager in administering programs, projects and processes specific to the operating unit.
• Research and analyzes data for Plant Manager and Human Relations Manager, and helps to maintain records.
• Supports Accounting functions as necessary by performing duties such as: reconciliation of receipts, ordering supplies, etc.
• Promotes a strong teamwork environment. Flexibility and ability to multi-task are key as Associate is expected to have the ability to work in a variety of positions.
• Actively practices good safety procedures; has the ability to understand and follow established safety procedures.
• Provide support in areas such as recruitment and staffing.
• Process a variety of confidential forms, may process enrollment, and pay changes, informational and other pre-employment screening information.
• Assists in maintaining personnel records.
• Ensures the completion of Payroll Authorization forms for all relevant changes and forwards them to the Human Relations Manager
• Forward address changes, direct deposit forms, etc., to appropriate departments
• Assists in supporting issues for employees, or labor relations, compensation, benefits applications, employment opportunities and affirmative action.
• Perform data entry into various software systems and other changes as needed.
• Assist in preparation of special projects such as Power Point presentations, skills development training, etc.
• Administer First Responder Training
• Manage safety shoe process
• Track Annual Safety Recognition program and administer accordingly
• Manage A&S & WC - Files, LD, LT, including Intelex
• Manage Personnel and Medical Files

Education and Work History:
• High School Diploma required, some college preferred.
• Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• 2-3 years of experience in an administrative assistant role, preferably in a manufacturing plant environment.
• Proficient with computers, including MS Office applications.
