Job description

Overview

The Operations Manager - is a key role on the Pet Supplies Plus operations team.  This position will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations for all Inbound functions. 

 

The Operations Manager will prioritize, assign, and review work to maintain efficiency and meet productivity, volume, and quality goals. 

Responsibilities/Qualifications

Operations Manager key responsiilities include

  • Ownership of all supply chain functions and provides guidance to staff their assigned area
  • Knowledge of cost account management process & activities, forecasting, people management principals, professional development, progression planning and talent management with ability to effectively direct the company's practices.
  • Provide analysis and insights on trends in KPIs; monitors all KPIs for adherence to standard
  • Implements corrective actions when operation deviates from operating plan and delegates to ensure correction is appropriate and effective
  • Provides leadership and guidance to all staff for continual improvement of key functions and activities to improve efficiency and meet increasing customer and business demands
  • Experience with 5S/ Lean/ Six Sigma; implementations and events
  • Knowledge of AIB standards and Enforce safety/housekeeping standards to meet standards, participates in annual audit for certification
  • Implements layout changes to improve velocity, performance and reduces labor costs.
  • Complies with all OSHA, federal, and state policies that optimizes safety within the facility
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

PAWsome Operations Manager candidates will have:

  • 8-10 years warehousing and distribution experience
  • 8-10 years Management experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Business or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Able to work flexible shifts/hours
  • WMS, specifically Manhattan WM experience, preferred
  • Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
