Position Overview

The Area Manager / Vice President, Field Operations provides executive leadership and performance accountability for a portfolio of EPC construction projects across all phases of development and execution. This role serves as the primary level of off-project leadership, ensuring disciplined execution, safety excellence, and sustained financial performance. The role ensures the execution of all applicable corporate processes, procedures and standards across all active projects and pursuits.

The position acts as a critical link between project teams, business leadership, and executive decision-making, while fostering high-performing teams and developing future leaders.

This position can be located in Aiken, SC, Oak RIdge, TN, Lenexa, KS, or Idaho Falls, ID.Other locations may be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Provide executive leadership and accountability for a portfolio of EPC construction projects.
  • Serve as the primary off-project leader for clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately prioritized, resourced, and aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Oversee project governance, risk management, and resolution of complex or escalated issues.
  • Provide financial oversight and accountability for project P&L performance.
  • Establish organizational structures and resolve cross-project resource constraints.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate safety, quality, and people management standards.
  • Engage with project teams to proactively identify risks, resolve challenges, and implement strategic solutions.
  • Mentor and develop project leadership to build organizational capability and succession. #LI-LH1
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of EPC project execution experience, including leadership of large, complex projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and influence executive-level decision-making.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing project P&L performance.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel at least two weeks out of the month and as required to support project and business needs.
