Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough intake assessments to evaluate the mental health needs of students, ensuring that appropriate treatment plans are established.
  • Provide one-on-one counseling sessions, crisis intervention, and support for students experiencing mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and stress related to academic pressures.
  • Facilitate engaging therapy groups and wellness workshops designed to address common issues among students, such as time management, study skills, and self-care practices.
  • Collaborate closely with campus partners, such as academic advisors, housing staff, and student organizations, to create a network of support tailored to individual student needs.
  • Participate actively in outreach programs to promote mental wellness on campus, including awareness campaigns and wellness events to educate students on available mental health resources.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records while adhering to ethical and legal standards in mental health care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on college students who are navigating the complexities of academic life while managing personal challenges. This includes working with a diverse group of individuals from various cultural backgrounds, each with unique perspectives and mental health concerns. Your expertise will contribute significantly to their personal growth and success within the university setting.

Qualifications
  • A valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, while a master's degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related area will enhance your candidacy.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the mental health issues commonly faced by college students, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and academic stress.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to establish rapport with students and collaborate effectively with a broad range of campus stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic practices and brief therapy methodologies, particularly as they apply to the university counseling context.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing a diverse caseload efficiently.
Preferred Experience
  • At least two years of clinical experience in a mental health setting, with a focus on serving college-aged populations.
  • Experience in conducting group therapy or workshops related to student development and well-being.
  • Proficiency in utilizing digital health tools and virtual therapy platforms to deliver services effectively.
