Job description

Purpose:  Looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor.

Supervise and direct manufacturing personnel and resources to ensure efficient and on-time delivery of product while maintaining quality and safety standards.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ability to program, assist with programing to help in the utilization and development of their direct reports and work closely with the programing department to make sure they are being fully utilized as a resource 
  • Works closely with Engineering and Quality to ensure the best methods are being utilized to improve efficiency and quality
  • Exhibit exceptional Communication skills 
  • Assist with Identifying, developing, and implementing training opportunities for department employees to enhance skills, improve performance, and support career growth
  • Responsible for direct management of department personnel; includes annual performance reviews, pay increases, authorization of overtime and PTO, verbal, and written disciplinary action
  • Support management decision-making by communicating production goals, operational priorities, and policy changes to shop floor teams, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Plan, assign, and direct daily duties for manufacturing personnel, controls allocation of resources to maintain production deadlines
  • Responsible for department asset scheduling and planning adjustments such as expediting operations which have fallen behind schedule
  • Provide proactive communication with Management, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and other support functions to prevent unforeseen events which may contribute to manufacturing delays and/or quality issues
  • Be available for and manage daily shift turn-over
  • Participate in the recruiting, hiring and training of new employees
  • Participates in SOP and safety training
  • Ensure that all employees work in accordance with company SOPs and industry standards
  • Ensure that there is always a clean and safe work environment which meets medical device and OSHA standards
  • Must have a full understanding of policies and procedures and compliance
  • Execute setup and/or operation of manufacturing equipment
  • Ensure equipment preventive maintenance and daily housekeeping standards are completed
  • Lead by example; accountable for their actions and the actions of their direct reports

 

Education and Experience:

  • Associate Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in supervisory or management role in a manufacturing environment

 

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership, communication, motivation, and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to express concepts effectively, both written and verbal.
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work in a highly dynamic and growing environment
  • Detail oriented with a high level of emphasis on accuracy and completeness
  • Must be familiar with and be able to read mechanical (machining) drawings and specifications.
  • Must have a solid grasp of manufacturing workflow and machining processes

 

Physical Demands:

  • Light to moderate physical exertion required
  • Lifting/carrying maximum 50 lbs.
  • Frequent lbs.: 1-10
  • Regularly required to stand, reach, and move about the facility
