Job description

At Brighter Day, we believe that people with developmental disabilities are people first. We will always place the person before the program. Brighter Day is looking for compassionate and caring individuals to join our team as a House Manager Direct Care Professional to provide care to the individuals we support. You will work in home settings managing staff, supporting individuals with daily living activities, participating in recreational activities, and fostering positive relationships.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Empathic individuals who want to make a real difference in a person's life by coming to work every day!
  • We are looking for enthusiastic, professional, caring people who know the value of communication.
  • Flexible and willing to adapt to change. The level of support may vary depending on the needs of the individual.
  • Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver's license and automobile insurance. Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to attend the paid 2-week orientation M-F 9:30am-5:00pm.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Assist with activities of daily living
  • Implement individualized care plans and follow specific protocols
  • Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and promoting independence
  • Assist with medication administration and documentation as required
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for individuals
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals
  • Manage Staff

 

HOURS NEEDED:

  • 3:00 PM-11:00 PM, Plus on-call 24/7 - During School
  • 7:00 AM-3:00 PM, Plus on-call 24/7 - During Summer

SKILLS NEEDED:

  • Experience in providing care to individuals with developmental disabilities or similar populations preferred but not required
  • Ability to work effectively with people with diverse needs and backgrounds
  • Strong communication skills to interact with individuals, families, and team members
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced, team orientated environment
