What you'll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Lead and execute installation trials toย validateย assembly processes, tooling, and equipment during pre-series (pilot) production and through series production.ย 
  • Define, implement, andย maintainย process control strategies to ensure stable, repeatable, and compliant production processes across all production phases.ย 
  • Provide hands-on support to production teams during pre-series builds andย maintainย ownership of process performance in series production.ย 
  • Identifyย deviations from product design, process standards, or quality requirements and implement short- and long-term containment and corrective actions.ย 
  • Collaborate closely with battery production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to ensure seamless process handover from pilot to series.ย 
  • Quickly resolve equipment, tooling, and communication issues to minimize production disruptions and downtime.ย 
  • Lead structured problem-solving activities, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.ย 
  • Facilitate regular cross-functional meetings to review installation trial results, open issues, and continuous improvement opportunities.ย 
  • Analyze pre-series builds, pilot results, and series production data toย identifyย risks, bottlenecks, and optimization potential.ย 
  • Identifyย andย eliminateย bottlenecks to improve process flow, ergonomics, throughput, and quality.ย 
  • Develop,ย maintain, and communicateย work instructions, process documentation, and control plansย aligned with applicable standards and regulations.ย 
  • Coordinate and support special build events within the Pilot Hall, including validation builds and rework activities.ย 
  • Train, coach, and support production and engineering team members on installation processes and process control methods.ย 
  • Take full ownership of assigned topics and ensure transparent reporting, escalation, and alignment with stakeholders.ย 

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina.
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.ย 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the companyย from time to time.

  • Aย Bachelor'sย Degreeย in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.ย Aย Master'sย Degreeย is aย plus.ย An equivalentย amountย ofย relevantย workย experience may beย considered inย lieuย of aย degree.ย 
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally across production, quality, maintenance, and engineering organizations.ย 
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.ย 
  • The ability to make sound decisions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.ย 
  • Highย proficiencyย inย DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and related quality and industrialization tools.ย 
  • Experience withย metrology equipment, measurement systems, and evaluation of measurement reportsย to ensure product and process quality.ย 
  • Strong communicationย skills, capable of clearly explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences.ย

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial Base Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00
