Job Description

About the Team: Responsible for providing technical analysis and expertise to optimize and maintain shop floor PC/PLC hardware, software, and control systems, ensuring the reliability and availability of manufacturing equipment. Supports production equipment during start-ups, breakdowns, and continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on electrical and controls-related issues.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment control system deficiencies, serving as the subject matter expert for maintenance controls and root cause analysis.
  • Develop and implement long-term solutions to improve equipment performance, reliability, and maintainability, including controls upgrades and replacement strategies.
  • Design, modify, and maintain automation and industrial network systems (e.g., Ethernet, Profibus) and PLC/PC-based control systems.
  • Program, upgrade, and optimize PLC, HMI, and related control applications to support manufacturing operations.
  • Provide technical expertise in hardware, software, electrical, motion control, and power transmission systems to improve safety, reliability, and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, maintenance, and customer teams to implement equipment and process improvements.
  • Communicate technical issues, troubleshooting methods, and solutions to maintenance and non-maintenance personnel; provide training and guidance as needed.
  • Maintain and continuously improve existing control systems to support production goals and equipment uptime.

Your profile as a Controls Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on production automation, controls engineering, and/or PLC/PC-based control systems.
  • Knowledge of controls hardware and software, including Siemens Step7 and related Siemens automation platforms (e.g., S7 Graph, Sinumerik 840D, Solution Line).
  • Experience designing, programming, troubleshooting, and upgrading complex control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, motion control systems, and industrial networks.
  • Strong expertise in control fault analysis, industrial I/O systems, and manufacturing equipment utilizing hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components.
