We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our Manufacturer's After-Sales Service Team us in Salt Lake City!
The Process Engineer I supports production and after sales service operations by maintaining processes, implementing Lean methods, documentation, and data/metrics, while developing foundational skills in process improvement, troubleshooting, and regulated medical device environments. Works under moderate supervision to execute engineering assignments and contribute to process improvements.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop, track, and report KPIs/metrics; analyze trends, escalate issues, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools to eliminate waste, reduce variation, and improve process flow.
  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies (DMAIC, 5 Whys, root cause analysis) and basic data analytics to resolve process and performance issues.
  • Lead and support Lean activities including Kaizen events, 5S/6S, visual management, and process/value stream mapping to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Support Production and Service leadership by meeting performance goals, maintaining stable operations, and ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and improve manufacturing and service processes, including sustaining engineering changes and supporting product/process updates.
  • Create and update controlled documentation including work instructions, visual aids, routers, BOMs, and standard work.
  • Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), deviations, and validation activities including development of basic test methods.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting support and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Engineering, Service) to resolve issues.
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence through teamwork, continuous learning, and ongoing process improvement efforts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of regulated manufacturing/service processes and quality systems.
  • Moderate proficiency in Lean methods: value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen, KPI tracking, DMAIC, 5 Whys, Visual Management, Spaghetti Diagrams, etc.
  • Moderate proficiency in Power BI (i.e. creating dashboards, reports, charts, graphs, data visualization, etc.)
  • Ability to create and maintain compliant documentation and work instructions.
  • Basic data analysis, testing support, and process troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and able to learn new systems and tools quickly.

Minimum Qualifications - (Education, Experience, Certification, & Licensure):
  • Bachelor's Degree in Technical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience required. Preferably in manufacturing or after sales service environment.
  • Moderate proficiency in Lean Six Sigma (LSS), DMAIC, Kaizen, and 5S/6S methodologies; Green Belt certification highly preferred.
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing or medical device environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CAD software; experience or training in SAP/Power BI.
