Job description

Stevenson & Blinn, CPA, PA is a successful public accounting firm conveniently located in historic downtown DeLand. Our practice has specialized in providing proactive accounting and tax preparation services for individuals and small businesses located primarily in Central Florida.
We are currently seeking a CPA (or highly seasoned tax accountant) who desires to work in a company environment that encourages a work/life balance. Our office is open 8-4 and we try to keep overtime to a minimum. This could be a great opportunity for a motivated individual as we are looking for a long-term relationship with the right person.

Qualifications:

  • CPA (or highly seasoned tax accountant) with a minimum of 6+ years of experience in tax preparation in a public accounting firm
  • Communicates effectively, with both written and oral skills, to maintain current client relationships and build new business
  • Can multi-task, stay organized and take ownership of projects to see them through to completion
  • Excellent tax preparation skills using Proseries tax software
  • Displays strong working knowledge of Quickbooks to be able to clean-up client prepared entry
  • Proficient in use of computers, including Proseries, Quickbooks, and Microsoft Office programs
  • Work efficiently and swiftly on client engagements and keep within budgeted time
  • Able to meet with client (both existing and potential) with confidence and professionalism.
  • Enthusiastic about networking and recruiting new clients

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal attention, timely service and high quality work that exceeds our client’s expectations
  • Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, exempt organization, estate and gift tax returns
  • Prepare compiled financial statements and other bookkeeping services
  • Prepare payroll, sales tax, and other types of returns
  • Respond to notices and requests for information from government authorities
  • Research and interpret complex tax issues for clients
  • Assist in year-end tax planning and strategy sessions
  • Keep current on all accounting, as well as tax legislation

We offer a competitive compensation package including salary commensurate with experience, monthly bonus potential, health insurance, and a retirement plan. Employees start with 3 weeks vacation/PTO plus the week between Christmas and New Year’s off to spend with family and friends.
