Propulsion Controls Engineering has a job openings for an Accounting Lead, with a minimum 2 years of accounting experience. Supporting our San Diego, CA location.

Position Summary

The Accounting Lead is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services for the Accounting Department. The Accounting Lead is accountable for continuously auditing and reconciling statements for vendors, online invoice tracking systems, and any/all accounting documentation that needs scanning and filing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Able to perform all basic functions and duties of the Accounts Payable Clerk(s) in their absence.
  • Liaisons with Production Department for billing issues and/or contract/purchase order input errors.
  • Manage the company’s gas cards, including the reconciliation of gas receipts.
  • Oversee monthly vendor statement request, and reconciliations of vendor accounts.
  • Ensure customer invoice discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining all vendor online accounts.
  • Prints all incoming invoices and matches to packing slips and receiving reports
  • Assist, if necessary, with all customer inquiries, concerns or issues.
  • Supervises the maintenance of all customer accounts.
  • Supervises the maintenance of all accounting reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts files saved in the shared accounting folder.
  • Confirms completion of all accounting documents that need filing and required coping.
  • Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required.
  • Ensures confidentiality of organization’s proprietary/financial information.
  • Performs other duties as needed at the discretion of the Accounting Manager

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum 2 years basic entry experience in an office setting.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong collaborator and team player.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate (both verbal and written.)

  • Manages time effectively and adapts quickly to changing priorities.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) emphasis on Excel.
