Job description

Strategy & Business Development's (S&BD) Capture Excellence (CE) team is seeking a Proposal Management Manager to lead a team of proposal professionals. You and your team will support Lockheed Martin Space's proposal and program efforts to ensure timely completion of compelling and compliant deliverables in response to customer acquisitions.
The Proposal Management Manager partners with other S&BD leaders to field, assess, and meet Business Development, MSAC, and Line of Business proposal and capture support requests. This individual is responsible for implementing and maintaining consistent Proposal Management practices and procedures to ensure a OneLM culture is modeled throughout Lockheed Martin Space.
The successful candidate will lead a diverse team of proposal professionals, assessing and building their skills and experience in a transforming organization. The role will involve hands-on mentoring and problem solving with proposal teams to create cohesive, collaborative teams, effective activities, and winning proposal products.
Other responsibilities include:
Support CE in its mission to produce compelling, compliant proposals.
Model Lockheed Martin's Full Spectrum Leadership (FSL) values.
Manage and coach Proposal Management professionals to hone their technical and professional skills.
Assign proposal management staff across CE for virtual and in-person capture efforts.
Partner with senior leadership and peer leaders to ensure a balanced and effective Proposal Management workload.
Understand employees' capabilities and help them advance their skills.
Monitor employees' progress against proposal goals to ensure adequate support is being provided both to the employees and the proposal team.
Communicate effectively with employees at multiple organizational levels. Excellent written and verbal presentation skills are needed.
Keep current on new, innovative proposal processes, tools, or technologies. Efficiently and effectively communicate and implement approved changes.
Navigate difficult situations and conversations to a productive outcome.
Lead special projects as assigned.
