What is a property photographer?

Property photographers are professionals who specialize in taking high-quality photographs of homes, apartments, commercial buildings, or other real estate for marketing and listing purposes. Their work helps showcase properties in the best possible light, attracting potential buyers or renters. They use specialized equipment and techniques to highlight a property's features, both inside and out. Some property photographers also offer services such as drone photography, video tours, and 3D walkthroughs to provide a comprehensive view of the property.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a property photographer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Property Photographer, you need a solid understanding of photography principles, composition, lighting, and often a portfolio demonstrating real estate work. Mastery of DSLR or mirrorless cameras, photo editing software like Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, and sometimes drone operation certification are commonly required. Strong attention to detail, creativity, reliability, and excellent communication with clients and agents set top professionals apart. These skills ensure that properties are presented in the best possible light, attracting buyers and supporting successful real estate transactions.

What are some common challenges property photographers face when capturing real estate listings, and how can they overcome them?

Property photographers often encounter challenges such as poor lighting conditions, cluttered or occupied spaces, and tight shooting schedules. To overcome lighting issues, they frequently use external flashes, HDR techniques, or shoot during optimal daylight hours. Working efficiently and communicating with real estate agents or homeowners helps manage time constraints and ensures spaces are photo-ready. Developing strong problem-solving skills and flexibility allows photographers to adapt quickly to each property's unique features, ultimately delivering high-quality images that appeal to prospective buyers.

Real Estate Photographer

Sarasota, FL โ€ข On-site

$30K - $75K/yr

Contractor

Re-posted 24 days ago

Job description

Real Estate Photographer & Territory Media Specialist.
Training Provided | Flexible Schedule | High Income Potential.

Estimated Earnings: $30,000 – $75,000+ annually.

Pinnacle Property Media is looking for a motivated, outgoing, detail-oriented person who enjoys photography, working with people, and building relationships.
This is not just a photography position.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has used a DSLR or mirrorless camera for portraits, sports, events, content creation, or hobby photography and wants to turn their skills into a high-income career in real estate media.
No real estate photography experience is required. We provide training.

Selected applicants will be asked to complete a short video application as part of the hiring process.
What You’ll Do:
You will be trained to capture professional real estate media, including:
  • Real estate photography.
  • Property video.
  • Drone photos and video.
  • Vacation rental and listing media.
  • Marketing content for real estate agents and property owners.

You will also:
  • Travel to properties in your assigned area.
  • Work directly with real estate agents, homeowners, property managers, and builders.
  • Upload media for editing.
  • Build relationships with clients.
  • Grow your network and repeat business.
  • Represent Pinnacle Property Media professionally in the field.

This Role Is for Someone Who Likes People:
We are looking for someone who is outgoing, energetic, and comfortable starting conversations.
The right person enjoys walking into a real estate office, introducing themselves, talking with agents, and building relationships. This position is a strong fit for someone who is not afraid to meet new people, promote a service they believe in, and create new opportunities.
If you enjoy talking with people, making connections, and being rewarded for your effort, this could be a great fit.

This Role Requires Strong Attention to Detail:
Our photographers do more than press a button.
Before photographing a room, you are expected to look carefully at the space and notice anything that does not belong in a professional listing, vacation rental, or hotel-style photo.
Examples of items that often need to be removed or hidden before taking photos include:
  • Trash cans.
  • Toothbrushes.
  • Toothpaste.
  • Soap dispensers.
  • Shampoo bottles.
  • Shower scrunchies.
  • Razors.
  • Wallets.
  • Keys.
  • Glasses.
  • Personal family photos.
  • Cleaning supplies.
  • Loose cords.
  • Dirty towels.
  • Clutter on counters.
  • Random personal items.
  • Anything that would not normally appear in a guest-ready vacation rental or hotel room.

The right person naturally notices these details before taking photos. We need someone who can walk into a room, quickly identify what looks out of place, and make small visual adjustments so the property looks clean, polished, and ready to market.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out:
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Work independently.
  • No editing required — we handle all post-production.
  • Training provided.
  • Strong income potential with no cap.
  • Opportunity to build your own client base.
  • Work with real estate professionals across Florida.
  • Grow long-term repeat business.

Compensation:
  • Earn 50% on your first shoot with a new client.
  • Earn 30% on all future shoots.
  • Earn 30% on company-provided shoots.

Minimum Guarantee:
You are guaranteed a minimum of $20 per hour worked.

Top performers earn $50,000 – $75,000+ annually.

This opportunity is best for someone who is motivated by income potential, willing to build relationships, and excited about creating their own success.
What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for someone who is:
  • Outgoing and comfortable talking to new people.
  • Energetic and positive.
  • Motivated to make money.
  • Comfortable working independently.
  • Reliable and professional.
  • Strong at following instructions and checklists.
  • Detail-oriented with a good visual eye.
  • Comfortable working with real estate agents and property owners.
  • Willing to build relationships and grow repeat business.
  • Experienced using a DSLR or mirrorless camera.

Drone experience is a plus but not required.

Ideal Background:
This position may be a great fit for:
  • Portrait photographers.
  • Sports photographers.
  • Event photographers.
  • Photography hobbyists.
  • Content creators.
  • People with customer-facing experience.
  • Salespeople.
  • Hospitality professionals.
  • Brand ambassadors.
  • People who enjoy networking and meeting new people.

Requirements:
  • Reliable vehicle and driver’s license.
  • Smartphone with data plan.
  • Laptop or desktop computer for uploads.
  • Experience using a DSLR or mirrorless camera.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to complete training.
  • Willingness to follow detailed property preparation and photography standards.

Applicants currently operating a real estate photography or drone business will not be considered.

Why Join Pinnacle Property Media:
Pinnacle Property Media is a fast-growing real estate media company serving real estate professionals across Florida.
We provide professional photography, video, drone, 3D tours, floor plans, and marketing media for real estate agents, property managers, builders, and vacation rental owners.
You will have the flexibility to work independently, the support of a company that handles editing and post-production, and the opportunity to grow your own income by building strong client relationships.
This is a strong fit for someone who wants more than a basic photography job. We are looking for someone who wants to learn, grow, meet people, and build a real income opportunity.
