Summary
At Hispanic Housing Development Corporation (HHDC), our vision is to provide affordable housing that people are proud to call home. Through quality housing, safe and stable communities, and superior customer service, we help create a foundation that enables individuals and families to build better lives.
HHDC is seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager to join our property management team at a Section 8 senior housing community in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have affordable housing experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to support day-to-day property operations.
Schedule & Compensation
Full-Time: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Pay Rate: $20.00-$21.20 per hour
Essential Job Functions
  • Assists the Property Manager with daily property operations.
  • Processes resident recertifications, rent calculations, leases, and required documentation.
  • Conducts regular inspections of grounds and common areas.
  • Monitors vacant units and make-ready status.
  • Assists with rent collection, delinquency follow-up, and eviction procedures.
  • Conducts resident home visits and community outreach as needed.
  • Serves as a liaison between residents and community agencies.
  • Assists with oversight of office staff, maintenance staff, and contractors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; some college preferred.
  • Affordable housing experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of multifamily property management experience.
  • Must have or obtain an Illinois Leasing Agent License within 6 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and regulations.
  • Strong customer service and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and property management software.
  • Vehicle, insurance, and good driving record required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
