Position Summary:
The Assistant Lodging Operations Manager plays a key role in supporting the daily housekeeping operations across all lodging properties within and around Glacier National Park. This position oversees the consistency and quality of housekeeping services and supports property teams to meet cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and operational standards. The role will also be involved in running front desk training sessions as well as supporting all front desk teams throughout the summer.
Key Responsibilities:
Housekeeping Oversight & Support (Primary Duties - ~80%)
  • Travel between all lodging locations within and around the park to support and assess housekeeping operations.
  • Train, coach, and support housekeeping leaders and staff to maintain high-quality room standards.
  • Provide hands-on housekeeping assistance during high occupancy periods, staff shortages, or turnover days.
  • Monitor compliance with cleanliness standards, safety protocols, and environmental practices.
  • Conduct regular property walkthroughs and room inspections.
  • Help coordinate daily room assignments and workload balancing across teams.
  • Assist with inventory management of housekeeping supplies and linens at each property.
  • Serve as a task force housekeeping leader, temporarily assuming housekeeping leadership responsibilities at properties experiencing vacancies, staffing shortages, or operational challenges.
  • Fill line-level housekeeping positions as needed to ensure continuity of operations and guest service standards.
  • Support the opening of seasonal properties and assist with stabilization efforts during leadership transitions.
  • Provide operational coverage for Housekeeper, Housekeeping Manager, and Housekeeping Supervisor positions when vacancies occur.

Front Desk & Guest Services (Secondary Duties - ~20%)
  • Provide relief support at front desks during peak periods or staff absences.
  • Act as a quick response resource for front desk staff with system and reservation questions.
  • Train, coach, and support front desk leaders and staff to maintain a high level of hospitality.
  • Assist with guest check-in/check-out procedures and respond to guest inquiries or issues.
  • Support hospitality initiatives and help resolve guest complaints when escalated.
  • Serve as a task force front desk leader, temporarily filling leadership or line-level front desk positions as operational needs require.
  • Provide direct front desk coverage during staffing shortages, vacancies, property openings, and peak business periods.
  • Assist in onboarding and training newly hired front desk leaders and agents across multiple locations.
  • Support operational continuity during front desk leadership transitions.

Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in housekeeping leadership or hospitality operations required.
  • Prior experience in front desk leadership preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping procedures, standards, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to learn new property management systems at a detailed level.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between park properties regularly.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead, train, and motivate seasonal staff.
  • Flexibility to assist across multiple departments and locations as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in varied weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a national park or remote hospitality setting.
  • Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) and scheduling tools.
