Job description

How You’ll Support Our Mission

We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer who brings deep technical expertise and an even deeper sense of ownership. This is not a role for someone who waits to be told what to do next. You will help architect, configure, and continuously improve the network infrastructure that underpins ESO products, and you will do it alongside a team that values candor, collaboration, and steady progress over headline‑grabbing heroics.

What You’ll Be Doing - the day to day

  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud and hybrid network infrastructure across environments.
  • Configure and manage F5 BIG-IP systems for load balancing, traffic management, and application delivery
  • Administer Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and Barracuda solutions to protect application and network layers
  • Partner with security and engineering teams to evaluate risk, enforce policy, and resolve incidents, asking the right questions early so the right solutions get built
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues methodically, communicate findings clearly, and document resolution paths that the whole team can learn from
  • Identify gaps and improvements proactively, bring forward recommendations with context, and follow through on the work
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement, not through dramatic overhauls, but through consistent, deliberate progress

What we are looking for - the essentials

  • 5 or more years of hands‑on network engineering experience, with meaningful time spent in cloud environments
  • Proven experience configuring and managing F5 BIG-IP (LTM, ASM/WAF)
  • Solid working knowledge of load balancing principles and real‑world application delivery
  • Experience with Azure networking, VNets, NSGs, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with Barracuda, SonicWall and other network appliances
  • Comfort working across firewall platforms and translating security requirements into network policy
  • A communication style that is direct, open, and respectful, you surface concerns early, share context generously, and engage in honest dialogue even when it is uncomfortable
  • A growth mindset: you measure yourself not against perfection but against where you were last quarter

How you work

At ESO, the strongest signal of a great engineer is not what they know on day one, it is how they approach learning, collaboration, and accountability over time. We are looking for someone who:

  • Asks the questions that move conversations from stuck to forward
  • Takes ownership without needing to own everything alone
  • Brings teammates along rather than working around them
  • Holds themselves to high standards and is honest when those standards are not met
  • Wants to grow, not just in technical depth, but as a teammate and contributor to something that matters
