Job Description

Position Summary

Role Overview

  • We are seeking a Manager Property Insurance to lead property insurance activities, program administration, coverage coordination, and insurance-related risk management support for the organization.
  • This role is focused on managing property insurance processes, supporting renewals, coordinating claims and coverage matters, maintaining insurance records, and helping ensure the Company’s property risk exposures are appropriately supported through effective insurance program management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in property insurance operations, risk coordination, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
  • This person will work closely with Risk Management, Real Estate, Operations, Legal, Finance, brokers, carriers, and other internal and external stakeholders to support insurance program administration, claims coordination, renewals, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Property Insurance Program Management

  • Manage day-to-day administration of property insurance programs, including policy tracking, coverage records, renewals, valuations, and documentation management.
  • Coordinate with brokers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to support annual property insurance renewals, underwriting submissions, exposure data collection, policy issuance and loss runs.
  • Maintain schedules and records related to insured locations, property values, coverage details, deductibles, limits, and endorsements.
  • Support review of insurance policies, binders, endorsements, certificates, and related documentation for accuracy and alignment with company requirements.
  • Coordinate property insurance claims activity, including intake, documentation, follow-up, reserve tracking, and communication with brokers, carriers, internal business partners and claims adjusters.
  • Monitor claim status, open issues, payment activity, and recovery efforts to support timely resolution and accurate reporting.
  • Partner with Real Estate, Operations, Facilities, Finance, Loss Prevention, and Legal teams to gather information related to insured properties, incidents, valuations, and risk exposures.
  • Support analysis of loss history, coverage trends, claim data, and insurance program metrics to help inform renewals and risk management decisions.
  • Assist with preparation of reports, summaries, schedules, and executive-ready materials related to property insurance renewals, claims, exposure data, and program performance.
  • Help ensure insurance records, policy files, claim documentation, and renewal materials are organized, complete, and accessible.
  • Support compliance with internal procedures, lender or contractual insurance requirements, and documentation standards.
  • Assist with audits, due diligence requests, and other information requests related to insurance coverage, claims, and insured property records.

Cross-Functional Support & Process Improvement

  • Work with Risk Management, Operations, Real Estate, Legal, brokers, and carriers to improve property insurance workflows, data quality, and process efficiency.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve documentation, coverage tracking, claims follow-up, reporting, and renewal coordination.
  • Support periodic reporting, ad hoc analysis, special projects, portfolio reviews, and other insurance-related assignments as needed.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation to support audits, reviews, and operational requirements.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Insurance, Real Estate, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in property insurance, risk management, claims administration, insurance program management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of commercial property insurance concepts, policy structures, claims processes, and insurance program administration.
  • Experience working with brokers, carriers, claims administrators, and internal business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and cross-functional coordination in a complex operating environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business applications used for reporting, tracking, and analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in real estate, REITs, property management, or another multi-site operating environment.
  • Experience supporting large property portfolios and multi-location insurance programs.
  • Familiarity with insurer submissions, statement of values, property schedules, and catastrophe exposure data.
  • Experience in a public company environment.
  • Professional designations such as ARM, CPCU, or similar preferred.
