The Accounting Manager oversees the management and oversight of the property accounting team, month end close, financial statement reviews, and audits. This position will also assist with streamlining and centralizing accounting processes, improve financial reporting, and perform advanced accounting tasks.


  • Supervise a team of Property/Senior Accountants
  • Ensure financial integrity of properties assigned to team by reviewing monthly financial reports
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with clients and property management in a timely manner while providing exceptional customer service and escalate as appropriate
  • Perform audit liaison responsibilities for internal and external financial audits
  • Assist in new property onboarding and dispositions as assigned
  • Ensure critical dates are met (taxes, insurance, debt payments, etc.)
  • Effectively communicate team updates to Controller weekly
  • Participate in the execution of strategic initiates such as Information Technology, Policies and Procedures, etc
  • Use of detailed technical accounting skills to assess appropriateness of accounting treatment
  • Ensure cash flow management to pay the property expenses and to adequately predict the need for funding 
  • Participate in interviewing/hiring team, performance reviews, goal setting and employee developmental planning
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
  • 4+ Years of Property Management Experience Preferred or equivalent
  • 1+ Years of Hands On Managerial Experience
  • Preferred Industry Specific Software: Yardi, RealPage/Onesite, Entrada, and/or MRI
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to read documents, computer screens and data
  • Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer
  • May occasionally be required to lift or carry items such as files or office supplies weighing up to 15 pounds
  • Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipment

Work Environment:

  • This is a hybrid role, requiring the associate to work in one of our corporate or regional offices 4 days per week
  • The office is an open setting which may include bright lights, constant noises and distractions
