As an Accounting Supervisor (Property Accounting), you will lead a team of accounting professionals while driving operational efficiency, strengthening financial controls, and delivering high-quality financial reporting. This role partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the accurate accumulation, recording, and analysis of financial transactions, with a strong emphasis on property accounting and capital asset management.

You will play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives, improving processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and coach a team of accounting professionals, including workforce planning and career development initiatives

  • Ensure team accountability for delivering work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal control requirements

  • Oversee the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records and accounting transactions

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures in compliance with FERC and GAAP accounting standards

  • Support the preparation, analysis, and delivery of financial reporting and insights to leadership

  • Lead and execute complex accounting projects and process improvement initiatives

  • Communicate financial results, analyses, and recommendations to senior leadership

Property Accounting & Capital Management Focus

  • Oversee and support property accounting activities, including asset capitalization, depreciation, and asset retirement obligations

  • Ensure accurate accounting for fixed assets and property transactions, including acquisitions, additions, transfers, retirements, and disposals

  • Support capital project accounting and related financial reporting

  • Partner with business leaders on divestitures, asset impairments, and valuation assessments, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards

  • Drive improvements to processes, controls, and systems supporting property accounting and capital management

  • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to fixed assets and capital expenditures

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting

  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including exposure to fixed assets or property accounting

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and internal controls

Preferred:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

  • Experience with property accounting, financial reporting, capital project accounting, or asset management environments

  • Prior experience leading or supervising a team

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel), Oracle, and other financial systems
