Job description

Summary:

Drivers for Crystal Flash (CF) are valued team members responsible for delivering fuel to customer or company locations safely and efficiently.  Team members are expected to support the company's mission and vision by demonstrating the following values:  integrity, safety and environmental protection, customer service, open communication, diversity, teamwork, and financial responsibility.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently drives commercial vehicles Monday through Friday and occasional weekends in all types of weather conditions.
  • Loads, unloads, and moves fuels and/or propane safely from the plant facility to customer or company locations promptly.
  • Follows company policies and federal and state regulations.
  • Keeps a safe record regarding accidents, driving record, injuries, and other actions/events, following all company safety guidelines.
  • Maintains clean equipment, uniforms, and cab space, ensuring any repairs are communicated promptly.
  • Completes accurate and timely documentation for the delivery of product, volume of delivery, and inventory control management.
  • Appropriately uses internal systems, handheld devices, and other electronic equipment for work purposes.
  • Takes direction from dispatchers and/or managers, following delivery instructions and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Communicates with team members, management, and customers professionally and courteously.
  • Stays calm and levelheaded in stressful situations and refrains from emotional outbursts.
  • Adopts new methods, procedures, and changes in a positive manner.
  • Offers suggestions to improve efficiency and solutions to solve problems.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

Certificates, licenses, registrations:

Required: Valid Michigan driver’s license; CDL-A or B with Air/Tanker.  Hazmat endorsement and CETP certification must be obtained during training

General Requirements, Education and/or Experience:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older with a Commercial Driver's License, Class B
  • Tanker endorsement is required, and a Hazmat endorsement must be obtained during training. 
  • CTEP certification within the first year of hire if delivering/handling propane.
  • At least 1 yr of previous truck-driving experience is preferred but not required.
  • No BACs, DUIs, DWIs within 7 years
  • No license suspensions for moving violations in the past 7 years.
  • No major preventable accidents within the past year
  • No reckless driving convictions in the last 7 years in a personal or commercial vehicle
  • Able to pass a DOT physical and drug test.
  • Able to work rotational on-call nights and weekends.
  • Knowledge of driving safety rules and regulations 
  • Knowledge of mechanics and hazardous materials preferred.
  • Good communication and human relations skills
