Job description

Executive Legal Assistant

Fetterman Law · Palm City, FL · Full-time, in office · $54,000–$62,000/year

For nearly 50 years Fetterman Law has served Florida in personal injury and business law. This position supports our business division, where we act as outside general counsel to founders, closely held companies, non-profits, and public agencies. We are a relationship practice, not a volume practice. We are hiring an Executive Legal Assistant to support two attorneys in our Palm City office.

This is a hybrid role: part executive assistant, part legal assistant, part project manager.

The organizational half

●     Manage calendars, correspondence, and daily priorities for two attorneys

●     Track every open matter, deadline, and commitment — and make sure nothing slips

●     Sequence the work so client expectations and hard deadlines are met or beaten

●     Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and colleagues

●     Prepare and issue monthly client billing (about one day a month once you know it)

The legal half

●     Prepare client correspondence and demand letters at attorney direction

●     Work with AI tools and forms: apply a set of facts, populate the document, prepare it for attorney review

●     Format, proof, and finalize documents after attorney drafting

●     Support general counsel, transactional, and pre-litigation matters

What we need

●     Exceptional attention to detail and sound independent judgment

●     Absolute discretion — this role has access to highly sensitive client and personal information

●     Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Word formatting and Outlook

●     Genuine willingness to learn new systems, including AI tools used within defined guardrails

●     Confidence with sophisticated business clients and public officials

●     Florida notary commission, or willingness to obtain one — the firm pays for it

●     Willingness to tell us early when a workload or a deadline is not realistic

Prior legal experience is helpful but not required. A college degree is helpful but not required. We care more about how you think.

Compensation and benefits

$54,000–$62,000 to start, depending on experience, with your six-month and twelve-month raises put in writing before your first day and tied to specific competencies. Employer-sponsored health insurance, retirement plan with employer match, paid vacation and holidays, and notary commission paid by the firm.

In office in Palm City, Monday through Friday, with travel to our North Palm Beach office about once a month.

To apply

Applications without a cover letter and without answering that question will not be reviewed.

Equal opportunity employer. Offer contingent on satisfactory background check.
