Fresh Promotions Associate 

Location: 5000 Kansas Avenue Kansas City, KS 66106

JOB SUMMARY

In this role, you will support the planning, execution, administration, and reporting of promotional programs across Fresh departments. You'll have the opportunity to play a critical role in bringing promotional programs to life while working alongside merchandising and category management professionals. This position offers exposure to strategic initiatives, business analytics, and cross-functional collaboration that can help develop your career within merchandising and retail operations. There are no supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process promotional deals and accruals within DemandTec and internal systems.

  • Create, review, and maintain promotional and co-op funding requests.

  • Ensure promotional data accuracy and compliance with established processes.

  • Monitor and resolve deal exceptions, missing deals, and reporting discrepancies.

  • Maintain promotional indicators and associated item setup.

  • Assist with the execution of seasonal, strategic, and special promotional events.

  • Create and distribute promotional sales sheets and event materials.

  • Publish promotions according to established promotional calendars.

  • Track event execution and promotional performance throughout the event lifecycle.

  • Support merchandising teams with promotional data and event-related activities.

  • Prepare reports and analyze promotional performance data.

  • Support business decision making through accurate reporting and data analysis.

  • Assist with promotional tracking, reconciliation, and post-event reporting.

  • Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support Promotions Managers and Category Managers with day-to-day administrative and analytical needs.

  • Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Assist with order entry, uploads, and system maintenance activities.

  • Provide backup support for team members as needed.

  • Perform additional administrative and project-related duties to support business objectives.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience; bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience using Google Workspace applications.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DemandTec, promotional planning systems, or similar retail platforms

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regular use of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, printers, as well as the ability to read and interpret information on computer screens, reports, and other documents.

  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, video conference, and electronic communication.

  • May occasionally require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling supplies and materials weighing up to 10 pounds. Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, and other repetitive hand movements are required.
