Distributors work with manufacturers and suppliers to offer a wide range of products that can be customized with logos or messages. Their main role is to help clients choose appropriate promotional items that align with their branding and marketing goals, manage the customization process, and ensure timely delivery. commission) with primary responsibility for prospecting, developing, and closing new promotional products business, and secondary responsibility for cross-selling print and signage products and services. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of
outside sales experience, thrives on building relationships face-to-face, and is excited to represent a trusted local brand across Hamilton, Marion, and Boone counties.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prospect and develop new business throughout Hamilton, Marion, and Boone counties, with a primary focus on promotional products and a secondary focus on print, signage, and marketing solutions.
• Generate new leads through in-person visits, cold calling, networking, referrals, and community involvement.
• Build and manage a sales pipeline from initial contact through close, using company CRM tools to track activity and
forecast results.
• Conduct client needs assessments and recommend the right mix of promotional products, print, and signage to help clients achieve their marketing goals.
• Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and product samples to prospective and existing clients.
• Partner with our design and production team to ensure every project is delivered on time, on brand, and on budget.
• Maintain and grow relationships with existing accounts to drive repeat business, upsells, and referrals.
• Stay current on promotional product trends, suppliers, and industry best practices (PPAI/ASI resources).
• Represent AlphaGraphics Carmel at local networking events, trade shows, chamber functions, and community activities.
• Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
Qualifications:
•  Minimum 2 years of outside sales experience required; experience selling promotional products, print, or signage strongly preferred.
• Proven track record of prospecting, pipeline management, and closing new business.
• Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently in the field.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel daily throughout the assigned territory.
• Proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office, and general business technology.
• Familiarity with promotional products distributors and suppliers (e.g., PPAI, ASI) is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
Compensation & Schedule:
• Salaried position: $42,000 base salary plus uncapped commission.
• Full-time schedule, Monday–Friday, aligned with our store hours of 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with flexibility for client
meetings and events.
• Ongoing training, sales support, and mentorship from an experienced local team.
• Opportunity for career growth within an established, community-focused business.
