Bring Better to the Bedside as an Emergency Medicine Physician in Adrian, MI at ProMedica Charles Virginia Hickman Hospital

Sound Physicians is a physician-founded and led, patient-first medical group grounded in one belief: better support for clinicians leads to better care for patients. Our emergency medicine teams are empowered to lead care locally with the backing of a strong national network committed to clinical excellence, intentional leadership development, and collaborative partnership. Here, you'll practice alongside care teams that work seamlessly across Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, and Critical Care-creating smoother transitions, stronger accountability, and better outcomes for the communities we serve.

If you're looking for a place where your clinical judgment is valued, your growth is supported, and your work truly makes a difference, we'd love to talk.

Local Team Collaboration:

  • Join our close-knit, well-established team of 8 physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) at ProMedica Charles Virginia Hickman Hospital.
  • Enjoy strong partnerships across the hospital, including a solid working relationship with Sound's hospitalist program.
  • All our providers live within one hour of the facility; some are residents of the hospital's community.
  • Work in a stable nursing environment with excellent support-our nurses and ED staff are experienced, engaged, and great to collaborate with.
  • Benefit from a team-oriented culture where everyone works together, with mutual respect and shared goals.
  • Accountable, on-site leadership: a local medical director who knows the community and owns the department's performance, supported by Sound's leadership-development tools.
  • Stable, well-staffed teams: cohesive teams aligned on our patient-first culture of excellence, which means less reliance on premium temp labor and more predictable shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified/eligible in emergency medicine.
  • New graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Open to J-1 visa candidates with in-house visa specialists and filing fees covered.

Scheduling:

  • A flexible schedule is available, and our team covers for each other when we're out.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide care at ProMedica Charles Virginia Hickman Hospital, a 58-bed Level IV trauma center with a 27-bed emergency department, certified as a stroke center.
  • Volume: 28K annual visits with 34 hours of physician coverage complemented by 12 hours of APP coverage
  • EM Physicians respond to floor codes.
  • We use EPIC as an EMR
  • Our main supporting facility for transfers is ProMedica Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, with a helicopter service.

Living and Working in Adrian:

  • Adrian offers a charming blend of small-town warmth and diverse cultural amenities. Residents appreciate the city's picturesque parks, historic architecture, and vibrant downtown, while the proximity to local colleges like Adrian College and Siena Heights University contributes to a lively community atmosphere. With a low cost of living and a strong sense of community, Adrian is an inviting place to call home for those seeking a balanced and welcoming living environment. Adrian is located in Lake Country with multiple different options for living on or near water. Adrian is also located between Ann Arbor and Toledo for those who want the option to live in a bigger city.
