What does a projects manager do?

A Projects Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing projects within an organization to ensure they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. They coordinate with teams, allocate resources, manage timelines, and communicate with stakeholders to track progress and address any issues that arise. Projects Managers play a key role in ensuring project objectives align with organizational goals and are delivered successfully.

To thrive as a Projects Manager, you need strong project management skills, leadership abilities, and a background in business or a related field, often supported by a bachelor's degree or higher. Familiarity with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Asana, or Jira, and certifications like PMP or PRINCE2, are commonly required. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills help you motivate teams and adapt to dynamic project demands. A Projects Manager often oversees several projects simultaneously, which requires strong organizational and prioritization skills. They rely on project management tools, regular progress meetings, and clear communication to track milestones and address potential bottlenecks early. Effective delegation and collaboration with cross-functional teams are also key, as Projects Managers must align resources and expectations while adapting to shifting priorities. This dynamic environment encourages continual learning and offers opportunities to develop leadership and strategic planning abilities.

Job description

Special Services Growth Manager

Location: Cincinnati, OH / Northern Kentucky
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexibility based on client and project needs
Compensation: Starting base salary of $75,000 + commission, incentives, and bonus opportunities
Company Vehicle Provided

About the Role

RamClean is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Special Services Growth Manager to grow our sales with existing clients.

This is a unique hybrid sales and operations role designed for someone who knows how to identify opportunities, build relationships, close business, and make sure the work gets done successfully.

Unlike starting a sales territory from scratch, you will have the advantage of working with an established company and an existing customer base. A significant part of this position will involve visiting current RamClean customers, strengthening those relationships, identifying additional facility needs, and selling services outside their regular janitorial scope.

Special Services may include floor stripping and waxing, carpet cleaning, deep cleaning, project cleaning, and other facility-specific services.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, comfortable working independently, and excited about building a successful business vertical.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and grow Special Services revenue.

  • Regularly visit existing RamClean customer locations to build relationships and identify additional service opportunities.

  • Prospect for and develop new Special Services business.

  • Recommend and sell additional services based on each customer’s facility needs.

  • Prepare and follow up on proposals, estimates, and service opportunities.

  • Schedule Special Services projects directly with customers.

  • Coordinate with operations and field teams to ensure sold work is properly scheduled, staffed, and completed.

  • Help maximize productive and billable hours for the Special Services team.

  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently follow up on opportunities.

  • Represent RamClean professionally while traveling to customer locations in a company-provided vehicle.

  • Protect existing customer relationships while pursuing additional revenue opportunities.

  • Listen to customer concerns and appropriately coordinate with the responsible operations team when concerns involve their regular janitorial service.

  • Follow up after projects to ensure customer satisfaction and identify future opportunities.

  • Work closely with company leadership to develop and expand the Special Services division.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this position means taking the resources, customer relationships, equipment, and operational support already available and turning them into a growing, profitable Special Services division.

The right person will:

  • Keep the Special Services team consistently scheduled with profitable, billable work.

  • Build a strong pipeline of recurring and one-time projects.

  • Generate additional revenue from our established customer base without compromising existing relationships.

  • Develop new customer relationships and opportunities.
