Position Summary
As a Project SEARCH Job Coach, you'll play a vital role in helping young adults with disabilities successfully transition from school to meaningful employment. Working alongside students as they complete internship rotations at a community business site, you'll provide hands-on coaching, encouragement, and individualized support that helps them build confidence, develop workplace skills, and discover their potential.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Empower young adults with disabilities to build confidence, develop workplace skills, and achieve greater independence through real-world internship experiences.
  • Provide individualized coaching, encouragement, and support as participants learn new job tasks and navigate workplace expectations.
  • Help participants identify their strengths, explore career interests, and discover pathways to meaningful employment.
  • Partner with interns throughout their job search journey, including resume development, interview preparation, and job applications.
  • Create opportunities for career exploration through job shadows, informational interviews, and community-based work experiences.
  • Collaborate with instructors, families, employers, and community partners to support participant success and long-term employment outcomes.
  • Teach and reinforce workplace, communication, self-advocacy, and problem-solving skills that help participants thrive both on and off the job.
  • Support participants during interviews, onboarding, and employment transitions, celebrating progress and encouraging growth every step of the way.
  • Build strong relationships with employers to create inclusive workplaces where individuals with disabilities can succeed.
  • Document participant progress and outcomes while helping demonstrate the life-changing impact of the program.

Education/Qualifications:
  • High school diploma. Some college preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
