Job Description
Our Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group assists in all levels of federal, public, private and international organizations by offering planning, design, and construction services for transportation systems that reflect community needs. Our value-added program management, best-in-class design-build expertise, and unparalleled sustainability and economic solutions, build partnerships and create solutions for current and future environmental and infrastructure challenges. CDM Smith is seeking a Project Scheduler / Schedule Reviewer to support our Transportation CEI (Construction Engineering & Inspection) team in Columbia, SC. This position will contribute to CDM Smith's mission by: • Performing Baseline and Updated Schedule Reviews for both internal and external clients, frequently under tight deadlines. • Developing and documenting project planning considerations and objectives, scope and milestones to incorporate into the master project schedule. • Developing, maintaining, and analyzing integrated critical path schedules for projects in accordance with contract specifications. • Developing scope, deliverables, and activities with project managers for each task assignment. • Developing detailed work plan deliverables including schedule diagrams (Pert, Gantt & Time-Scale), resource loaded activities, and fee scheduling of invoicing. • Gathering project progress information from project manager and project team members to update and monitor the project. • Maintaining and updating scope within work breakdown structure; reports on unbudgeted activities. Updates actual expenditures, and forecasts remaining cost/resource needs. • Supporting the updating of a risk register related to schedule and scope impacts. • Developing monthly progress report deliverables to encompass schedule updates, schedule performance/milestone reports, and performance curves. Monitoring and reporting critical path and schedule performance; updating actual progress and forecast remaining work schedule. • Preparing miscellaneous proposal and/or Contract Time Determination schedules, as required.
Skills & Abilities
• Proficient in project management methodology including project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and general finance and accounting concepts and practices. • Demonstrates good knowledge of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks and opportunities as well as an understanding construction practices. • Working knowledge of Enterprise Project Portfolio Management tools (Ex: Primavera P6) • AACE-CST, AACE-PSP, or PMI-SP certification • Proficient in determining contractual compliance and reasonableness of schedule elements including, but not limited to, project Scope inclusion, activity configuration (logic, durations, constraints, calendar assignments, etc.), cost loading, resource loading, calendar configurations, mandatory reports, and narratives. • Proficient in reviewing the Critical and Near-Critical Paths, identifying variances and schedule revisions, and analyzing and reporting the impacts of the changes applied. • Evaluating progress reported and determining the overall impact of the progress on the project's Critical Path and completion dates. • Proficient in evaluating project delays per the contract specifications. • Possesses working knowledge of cost loading and resource loading techniques and Earned Value Management. • Possesses the ability to communicate schedule development and review results verbally and in written form to both internal and external clients in an accurate and concise manner consistent with the protocols established by CDM Smith and our clients. • Possesses strong teamwork and collaboration skills and an ability to work well in fast paced environments requiring daily shifting of priorities and deadline requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related discipline. 6 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Additional Pay Range Information
CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate's salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.
Additional Compensation
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
