Job description

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Knowledgeable of planning and scheduling concepts and principles including effects on financial performance.
  • Familiar with data sources and performs detailed schedule development.
  • Identifies and investigates project schedule variances.
  • Collects and updates data and updates and produces scheduling reports.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of WBS and support activities to implement applicable coding. Performs baseline development.
  • Supports gathering and assembling data for schedule updating.
  • Performs measurement of project schedule progress and gathers and assembles data for schedule and network updating.
  • Gathers data for schedule baseline development and maintenance.
  • Familiar with construction drawings, specifications and construction contracting methods.
  • Understands CPM scheduling concepts and principles and able to develop detailed engineering, procurement and construction logic.
  • Understands concepts and principles of scope control and change management and earned value methodology.
  • Performs monthly report preparation.
  • Participates in planning and scheduling meetings to gain insight to planning and scheduling issues.
  • Knowledgeable of cost baseline fundamentals, concepts and principles.
  • Performs Time Impact Analysis for project changes. 
  • Creates bid-time schedules for use in estimating potential projects.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related field + 4 years of relevant project scheduling experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Proficiency in P6 scheduling software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years' project scheduling experience. 
  • Scheduling experience on two projects within the past 5 years related to heavy civil construction. 
  • Experience in heavy civil or industrial EPC/maintenance projects, specifically in cost control, planning and scheduling positions, or previous field engineering experience with emphasis on reporting and tracking of productivity and costs.
  • Experience in setup of work breakdown structure and establishing levels of control
  • Experience in cost analysis, forecasting, progress measurement and earned value performance (EVMS)
  • Experience in risk analysis, contingency management, and change control
  • Ability to work effectively in a project team environment
  • Software experience including PRISM, CMIC, MS Office Excel or other EVMS programs.

The salary range for this position is between $130,000 - $160,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.

The Company also provides employer paid STD, LTD, basic life and AD&D, and an Employee Assistance Program. Additional voluntary benefit offerings include pet insurance, hospital indemnity, critical illness insurance, legal and identity theft protection.

These benefits are available to all employees working more than 20 hours per week. Employees working less than 20 hours per week are eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage as well as EAP services.
