Moog's Industrial Group (IG) is seeking a Project Quality Engineer.
You will be focused on our Quality Management System (QMS) and responsible for maintaining, protecting and continuously improving the organization's ISO 9001:2015 QMS and for providing hands-on quality engineering support to production value streams. In this role you will lead audit readiness and execution, drives effective corrective and preventive actions, and partners with operations and engineering to reduce defects, improve process capability and sustain certification.
You will report to the QA Assurance Manager in an onsite role in East Aurora, New York.
As a Project Quality Engineer you will...
  • Maintain and improve the ISO 9001:2015 QMS, including control of documented information, procedures, process maps, work instructions and records to ensure effectiveness and certification readiness.
  • Lead and support internal and external audits - plan schedules, prepare auditees, facilitate audits, track findings, and ensure timely, effective closure of nonconformances and CAPAs.
  • Provide hands-on quality engineering support to production value streams: investigate defects, lead root-cause analysis, implement containment and permanent corrective actions, and verify effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain process control documentation: control plans, inspection criteria, SPC charts, process capability studies and validation records.
  • Manage change control and risk assessments for product/process changes; support FMEA, PPAP, and first article/validation activities as required.
  • Monitor, analyze and report quality performance metrics (e.g., PPM, DPU, first-pass yield, NCR closure rate, CAPA effectiveness) and use data to prioritize improvement efforts.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects using structured problem-solving methods (8D, DMAIC, 5-Why) and lean tools to reduce scrap, rework and cost.
  • Coach and train production, engineering and support teams on QMS requirements, audit readiness and problem-solving techniques.
  • Collaborate with supplier quality to resolve incoming material and supplier process issues; support supplier audits as needed.
  • Act as a point of contact for accreditation/certifying bodies and maintain records for management review and regulatory compliance.

To be considered for this role, here's typically what you'll need to bring with you...
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of quality-related experience, including a minimum of one (1) year focused on QMS development/maintenance and ISO 9001:2015 activities.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements and practical experience implementing/maintaining an ISO-based QMS.
  • Proven experience performing and supporting internal and external audits.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in root-cause analysis, CAPA management and statistical quality tools (SPC, control charts, capability indices).
  • Proficiency with quality documentation systems and Microsoft Office; experience with QMS or MES software is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Salary Range Transparency:
Buffalo, NY $115,000.00-$130,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
