What are Project Project managers?

Project Project managers are professionals responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects within an organization. They coordinate teams, manage resources, set timelines, and ensure that project goals are achieved on schedule and within budget. Their role involves communicating with stakeholders, identifying potential risks, and adapting plans as necessary to meet organizational objectives. Project managers are essential in various industries, including construction, IT, healthcare, and finance, to ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Project Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Project Manager, you need strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills, typically supported by a relevant degree and project management experience. Familiarity with project management software like Microsoft Project or Asana, and certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2, are commonly required. Exceptional communication, adaptability, and team-building abilities help you manage stakeholders and motivate teams. These skills ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.

What are some common challenges faced by project managers when balancing multiple projects simultaneously?

Project managers often encounter difficulties in prioritizing tasks and allocating resources efficiently across several projects. Managing competing deadlines, coordinating with diverse teams, and maintaining clear communication can be particularly challenging. Successful project managers use tools like project management software and regular status meetings to stay organized, while also adapting quickly to shifting priorities. Building strong relationships with stakeholders and fostering a collaborative environment further helps in overcoming these challenges.

Description
Lead meaningful projects. Shape healthier communities. Empower teams to do their best work.
At HEAPY, our Senior Project Managers are more than project leaders-they are trusted partners to our clients, champions for our colleagues, and stewards of work that directly impacts patient care and community well-being. If you're energized by complex challenges, collaborative problem-solving, and the opportunity to guide multidisciplinary teams toward excellence, this role offers a chance to make a lasting difference.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Project Manager, you will guide the full lifecycle of healthcare design, commissioning, sustainability, or engineering/construction projects-from proposal through closeout. You'll be the connective thread that ensures every project delivers a Superior Client Experience, fosters strong colleague engagement, and meets financial sustainability goals.
Why This Role Matters
Healthcare projects are uniquely meaningful-they support the spaces where people heal, where families find comfort, and where communities receive care. As a Senior Project Manager, you will help shape environments that directly improve lives.
If you're ready to bring your expertise, leadership, and heart to a team that values collaboration, innovation, and purpose-driven work, we'd love to explore this opportunity with you.
SUMMARY
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the full life cycle (proposal-initiation-execution/control-closeout) of design engineering, commissioning, energy optimization, sustainability, or engineering/construction projects within the Healthcare Practice. This position is responsible for the complete project success including maintaining a Superior Client Experience, a high level of colleague engagement / collaboration, and achievement of Financial Sustainability targets.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for client focused communication and outreach, understanding and communication of the project scope to both the client and colleagues, establishing the Client's Guiding Principles for the project, project schedule, cost, cash flow, quality, resource planning requirements, and risk management elements required to optimize client service, quality, and fiscal responsibility.
Based out of the Cleveland office, this position has responsibility for managing medium to large-sized projects with a fee for services exceeding $500,000 requiring, typically, support from multiple Practices or Service Sectors. Additionally, the Senior Project Manager has an increased role in client management and business development focusing on expanding our relationships with new and existing clients.
