Job description

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a talented engineering team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineering leader who is passionate about developing people, driving continuous improvement, and delivering innovative, high-quality products.

In this role, you will oversee the design and project engineering functions, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with quality and manufacturing objectives. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and leadership to improve product designs, streamline engineering processes, and enhance overall operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of design and project engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish engineering standards, design processes, and best practices to improve efficiency, consistency, and product quality.
  • Manage engineering resources, project priorities, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful project execution.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) initiatives to improve product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, and simplify production.
  • Oversee the development and review of engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Provide technical leadership by resolving complex engineering challenges and supporting cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with manufacturing, production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth product launches and ongoing production support.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvements, and cost reductions.
  • Present engineering proposals, project updates, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, industry codes, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 8–10 years of engineering design experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • 3–5 years of experience leading or managing engineering teams.
  • Strong proficiency with CAD software, including AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
  • Solid understanding of engineering design principles, manufacturing processes, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Experience managing engineering projects, schedules, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
