Job description

Position Summary


As a Ventana Special Projects – Project Manager you will deliver a portfolio of small-to-mid-scale complex construction and renovation projects up to $50 million, with a focus on quality execution, client satisfaction, and on-time delivery. You will support all phases of the project lifecycle, from preconstruction through closeout and warranty, working closely with your project team to provide the best possible service to our clients. You will be responsible for controlling costs, maximizing efficiency, and building strong relationships with everyone involved in the project.


As a Project Manager your key accountabilities will involve:


  • Managing end-to-end project delivery, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets are met.
  • Running multiple projects simultaneously, including tenant improvements, renovations, and small capital projects.
  • Supporting preconstruction activities such as budgeting, estimating, constructability reviews, and trade procurement.
  • Reviewing project drawings, contracts, and specifications, and flagging potential issues or conflicts to the appropriate team members.
  • Planning and managing daily operations and project schedules while monitoring progress against milestones.
  • Tracking project expenditures, reviewing invoices, and managing labour and material costs in line with the project budget.
  • Preparing and negotiating subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Conducting regular site visits to review progress, verify safety practices, and proactively resolve issues.
  • Leading project meetings with trade partners, consultants, and clients to ensure clear communication and timely decision-making.
  • Building and maintaining positive client relationships, serving as a key point of contact throughout the project.
  • Managing project closeout activities, including deficiency resolution, turnover documentation, and warranty coordination.
  • Supporting and mentoring Project Coordinators as they develop their skills and grow within the project team.


As a Project Manager your experience and qualifications will include: 


  • 5+ years of construction management experience, preferably with a general contractor or general contractor’s special projects division.
  • Post-secondary education in Construction or Project Management (PMPP, Gold Seal, ABT, Construction Management, or other construction-based formal education).
  • Experience managing projects between $2 and $50 million independently from start to finish.
  • Experience with commercial, multi-family residential, and industrial construction.
  • Proven track record of delivering multiple fast-paced, complex .projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, cost management, and contract administration.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Autodesk tools)
