Position Summary
Apex Systems is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a large-scale California public sector application modernization initiative. The Project Manager will oversee project planning, Agile delivery, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, vendor coordination, executive reporting, and successful delivery of a cloud-based regulatory reporting platform. The system includes registration, workflow, correspondence management, fee management, reporting, and environmental data tracking capabilities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience
  • Managed at least one IT project valued at $2M+ serving 1,000+ users
  • Experience managing:
    • Project schedules
    • Risks and issues
    • Executive stakeholders
    • Budget and scope control
    • Cross-functional technical teams
  • Agile/Scrum delivery experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • California State Government experience
  • PMP Certification
  • Azure DevOps experience
  • Application modernization or digital transformation projects
